Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 am–12 am. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Midnight Express Cafe at (616) 367-6565; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Grand Rapids is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Grand Rapids follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The coffee was rich and fresh, and the bread was soft, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I also tried one of their specialty breads, which was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Cozy atmosphere and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back.

Young woman barista taken my order I see her here a lot at night. She made my honey pistachio latte to perfection including my friend’s vanilla iced steamer. I always look foward to coming back.

Just tried this place for the first time with a friend today. Verdict - it's okay. Service - lady behind the counter didn't smile but was friendly enough when I asked about the some menu items. It was fine, just the mood between her and her coworker felt a bit... serious, I guess. Food - I got the Hot Honey Chicken Flatbread. It tasted alright, but nothing to write home about. It was in no way spicy. The honey flavor was the appropriate level, not overpowering but you could taste it. The chicken itself was just okay, the cheese was melted and the pickles worked well. I tasted what they were going for but it just felt like it was missing something, maybe slightly more kick. Coffee - I got a black Americano and it honestly tasted weak. I drank it but one star here. Atmosphere - nice upscale coffee shop vibe with cute furniture. I liked it. Overall, I'd say not bad, but not great. I may return, may not. I believe there is only street parking which would deter a future visit if I arrived and there was no close parking.

Food and coffee are amazing! I am a student and I love studying here. The staff is always so kind and welcoming. Also very comfy seats and plugs everywhere for you to study comfortably. I strongly recommend the avocado toast and Cesar wrap but honestly everything tastes good :)

Love love love! I work from home almost every day, and I struggle to find a place to sit in most of the coffee shops nearby. I come here to work at least once a week! Some notes: β€’ There is so much space! Plenty of different kinds of chairs and seating options. β€’ Quiet ambiance - although I think it's because they're new and do hope they get enough business to stay open. β€’ Coffee is great! The sandwich I got yesterday was a little pricey for the size but was delicious nonetheless. β€’ There is free parking in the back lot! Don't be like me and accidentally for street parking πŸ˜… β€’ It's always chilly inside...I'd bring a jacket Definitely recommend!
